Course Description
This course provides students with the opportunity to watch other students, faculty and visiting artists in concert performance. Students learn elements of technique, stage deportment and stylistic interpretation by watching other performers. This course meets the concert attendance requirement of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) and is required concert attendance for all music majors. This course is repeatable for credit.
Justification
All students majoring in music at institutions with NASM accredited programs must attend a variety of live musical performances each semester. Documentation of attendance must take place for the first 4 semesters of a degree program.
Student Learning Outcomes
- Students will attend at least 12 concerts each semester.
Course Content
Students will attend at least 12 performances each semester. Performances offered will cover many styles, historical periods, and cultures.
