Badgers in a Bathtub (Snow Improvisation Team)

Badgers in a Bathtub is a comedy improvisation tour troupe.  The intention of this class is to develop and strengthen skills in improvisation as well as having performances on-campus and off-campus. This is a class and will require registration.  Please make sure you have room in your schedule.

Any Current Snow College students are welcome to audition.

For those cast, class will take place Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:00-3:15pm  

Performances will take place Select Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00pm (Notice for all performances will be given)  Additional performances will take place remotely throughout the semester.  Excuse letters will be provided if these performances interfere with class time.

OR: SEVEN INCREASINGLY EVENTFUL YEARS AT A CERTAIN SCHOOL OF MAGIC AND MAGIC

What to Prepare

Students may prepare any one minute monologue. Monologues should be memorized.

  • Students will be asked to perform the monologue at least twice; once with an original interpretation, and a second time as a Harry Potter character of their choosing. I'm looking for character variety. Dramatic and comedic monologues are welcome but do keep in mind that puffs is a comedy

Performance date are November 19-22 with a Saturday Matinee November 22.

Bright star

Written by Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, Directed by Jenn Chandler

Performance dates are March 18-21 & 25-28, 7:30pm with Saturday Matinees March 21 & 28, 2:00pm

There is some physical intimacy required in this show - stage kisses/general intimacy that happens in relationships/romantic relationships. Stage kissing and intimacy is expected for those in lead roles, though care and concern will be taken when blocking and staging ALL intimacy.

Callbacks and the cast list will be posted on the callboard in the Eccles building. We will NOT be emailing the information out, so please come and check in person to see if you are called back or cast.

What to Prepare
  • Prepare a one-minute monologue and a 32-bar cut. Your performance time should be no more than two minutes total. Bring sheet music for your accompanist. You will be stopped and excused if you go over your five-minute slot.

AUDITION SIGN-UP

Rehearsals 
  • Important Information:
    • If you are a student at Snow, you must achieve at least a 3.0 in Fall Semester, 2025 (This current semester) in order to be in Bright Star
  • Performance Rehearsals:
    • January 12 - February 28th (Yes, we may have rehearsal on the 28th. Keep it free.)
    • M-F: 6:00-9:00pm (If needed, rehearsals may extend until 10, or an occasional Saturday rehearsal may happen. Please keep your Saturdays open.)
    • There will be no rehearsal over Spring Break, March 1st-March 8th.
  • Tech:
    • March 9-12
    • 6:00-10:00pm
  • Dress:
    • March 13, 14 (8 out of 10), 16, 17

As you are being cast now, the expectation is that all will come to rehearsals memorized with both songs and lines.

Optional

Dance Review:  You do not have to come to this, but it is highly recommended.
