Math March Madness

The Snow College Math Department is proud to host several events in March and April to celebrate the awesomeness of mathematics.  All students from Grade 6 and up and their teachers are invited to participate in these exciting Math March Madness events.

2026 Events

T-Shirt Art Competition

Calling all students (6th Grade and up) across Utah!  Do you have a passion for math and creativity? Show it off by participating in our Math T-Shirt Art Competition!

Objective: Create a unique and eye-catching 2D art piece that shows the wonders of mathematics in the world around you.  

Requirements:

  • Each entry must be drawn with a white background and include at most 3 colors.
  • Each entry must be completely original and may not use any content created by AI or anyone other than the contestant.
  • Each entry must be submitted electronically as a JPEG, PNG, GIF, BMP, TIFF, or SVG file. 

Prizes will be given to the 1st and 2nd place submissions from students in grades 6-12 and to the 1st and 2nd place submissions from college students.  In addition, a grand champion will be selected from all submissions, and their artwork will be featured on the coveted "Math Jock" t-shirt for the following year. The winners will be selected via a blind vote by the Snow College Mathematics faculty.

Math Art Contest

Bring the incredible world of mathematics to life through art!  The Snow College Math Art Contest will have two categories: 2D Art (drawings, paintings, etc.) and 3D Art (sculpture, origami, etc.).  All Snow College students, staff, and faculty are invited to participate! 

Prizes will be awarded for Best in Category, Best in Math, and People's Choice.

Bring submissions to Noyes 102F before 5pm on March 20. 

Multiple submissions are allowed! All submissions must be displayable on a table or leaned against a wall. No submission dimension should exceed 7 meter. Submissions will be on display for the public.  Math Art Contest organizers will hold no liability for any incidental damage.

Calculus Bowl

Calling all Calculus masters and enthusiasts!  Get ready to witness the clash of minds and equations at the Calculus Bowl!

Date:  March 27, 2026
Time:  12:30p – 1:20p
Place:  Founders Hall (Ephraim Campus)

In this exciting contest of wit, teams will battle it out, answering calculus questions and pushing their skills to the limit.  Witness the thrill of competition, the power of collaboration, and the beauty of mathematics unfold!   The winning teams will receive an awesome prize!

Get a team of 3 together and sign up by emailing your team name and the names of your team members to Trent Fawcett at trent.fawcett@snow.edu.

Spectators are encouraged to come and cheer on your favorite team and create an electrifying atmosphere.  Spectators will also have the chance to answer some bonus questions for exciting prizes.

Refreshments will be available to fuel your intellectual fire for participating teams and spectators.

Dice Mania

Calling all dice rollers, number crunchers, and game enthusiasts!

Get ready to shake things up at Dice Mania, the ultimate celebration of dice games! Join us for an evening of fun, laughter, and friendly competition, where you can:

  • Master exciting dice games: Compete in a tournament for the dice game Krig. Also learn the rules and play several other popular dice games like Farkle, Yahtzee, and Shock Out!
  • Challenge your friends: Put your rolling skills to the test and see who reigns supreme.
  • Win awesome prizes: Compete for bragging rights and sweet prizes throughout the event. The prizes are to “die” for 😊.
  • Make new friends: Meet fellow dice enthusiasts and share your love for the games.
