Snow College Hosts Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence

August 10, 2022–Ephraim, UT – Snow College is pleased to welcome Dr. Satya Sundar Sethy as part of the Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence (S-I-R) program. As a Fulbright S-I-R, Dr. Sethy will spend the 2022-2023 school year teaching classes, presenting as a guest lecturer, and conducting research.

The Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence program is a unique initiative designed to enhance international efforts on U.S. college campuses. S-I-R scholars bring their expertise as well as an international perspective to the campus, providing students with exceptional learning opportunities that they may not otherwise receive.

Dr. Sethy is visiting Snow College from his home in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India, where he teaches philosophy and ethics at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras. Specializing in engineering ethics, ethics in higher education, and philosophy, Dr. Sethy is excited to share his knowledge with the Snow College community. He remarked, “I am delighted to be part of Snow College for my Fulbright Scholar-in-Residence fellowship program. It is my pleasure to mention that I received warm welcome and friendly greetings from the host institution colleagues and necessary support for my housing, lectures, and research tasks. I am looking forward to engaging classes and giving public lectures for the benefit of the students and community at large.”

Dr. Sethy and his wife Vinita Gulabchand Ahirwar will reside in Ephraim for the duration of the fellowship. In addition to his responsibilities on the Snow College campus, he will be available to meet with community groups and leaders.
