Snow College Names Interim Vice President

August 22, 2022–Ephraim, UT – Longtime Snow College faculty member Jay Olsen has accepted the position of Interim Vice President for Technical Education while Stacee McIff serves as the school’s Interim President.

Jay has been with Snow College for 25 years working as a faculty member, department chair, and as current dean. In his time here, he has taken Snow’s agricultural program to new heights. Since taking over the department in 2011, the program exploded from 38 enrolled agriculture students to 134 in 2020, a fourfold increase. Jay has also worked tirelessly to establish important relationships with transfer institutions and industry partners.

In addition to his work in the classroom, Jay has brought nearly $2,000,000 in grant money to the college over a ten-year period. These grants have led to more learning opportunities for students as well as expansions to the Farm Business Management program, which assists local family farms in becoming more profitable.

Jay’s sphere of influence extends well beyond Snow College. He has served on many state and nationwide boards and committees, including his six years on the board of the National Farm Ranch Business Management Education Association where he held various leadership positions with the association, including president.

Jay will continue in his role as Dean of the Business and Applied Technologies Division while serving as Interim Vice President.
