Significant growth is seen in vocational education, continuing students, and international students
October 17, 2022 – Ephraim, UT – Snow College reports a total headcount enrollment of 5,997 students. These numbers were verified and released today by the Utah System of Higher Education.
Even with a slight decrease in total headcount, Snow College saw a significant increase in vocational education enrollment and reached its reach vocational growth-metric milestone. Because of the increase in this category, the college expects to receive a $500,000 addition to the base budget during the 2023 legislative session. The college also serves dozens of students in non-traditional programs, which are not budget-related, do not receive any taxpayer support, and are not included in the third-week totals.
Snow College also saw a 12% increase in the number of continuing students, which is an important measure of student success, persistence, and satisfaction. Teri Clawson, Assistant Vice President for Enrollment Management said, “We focused our enrollment strategy on retention and technical education this year, and we are pleased to see growth in these areas. Our top priority is student success, and this report suggests that our faculty and staff are indeed meeting students where they are and helping them achieve their personal educational goals.”
In addition to these two areas of growth, the Center for Global Engagement reports an increase of 85 students (41%) this year. A look at all student demographics is available on the college’s institutional research website.
Snow College remains the most affordable college in the state with in-state tuition set at $1,898/semester. Nearly 75% of students receive some sort of financial aid. Student Body President Jackson Rowley said, “This is the best place in the world to get a personalized education and have a life-changing experience at an affordable price. Snow College students have opportunities during their freshman and sophomore years that are typically reserved for upper-classmen. Class sizes are small, involvement possibilities abound, and professors know us by name.”
