Snow College Reports Third Week Enrollment Numbers

Slight increase in undergraduate students matches institutional projection and goal

October 15, 2024 – Ephraim, UT – Snow College reports a total headcount enrollment of 5,577 students, a 1.29% increase from the previous fall. These numbers were verified and released today by the Utah System of Higher Education (USHE).

This enrollment increase aligns with institutional strategic initiatives established last year, including goals to increase the number of students from the school’s six county service region, from Utah County, and who identify as Hispanic and Latino. The college exceeded goals in all three of these areas and reports an 11% increase in service region enrollment. The recently launched TechConnect program, designed to help students completing technical education bridge to an associate degree, and an online Elevate program focusing on workplace skills also account for aspects of the enrollment growth. During her inauguration last September, Snow College President Stacee Y. McIff was charged by the Utah Board of Higher Education to focus on meeting local needs and strengthen the institution’s impact on the community; this enrollment increase in these specific categories are a result of the efforts to do just that. “We want everyone to experience Snow College’s high-quality programs and unparalleled student support – and we especially want our rural students and communities to know we are here to support them and help them be successful,” said President McIff.

Cody Branch, Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management agrees. He said, "We are excited about the outcomes we have seen this year in alignment with our strategic enrollment plan. We are especially excited about the significant increase we have seen of students within our service region. This progress reflects the hard work and dedication of many individuals from various departments across both campuses and in partnership with our regional high schools. We are grateful for their commitment to ensuring that more students have access to the amazing educational opportunities Snow College offers."

As the number of high school graduates decrease across the nation college officials will continue to collaborate with system partners, school districts, and industry leaders to provide the most affordable and accessible education to students. Additional information about student demographics is available on USHE’s data webpage.

Snow College remains the most affordable college in the state with in-state tuition set at $2,169/semester. Nearly 77% of students receive some sort of financial aid, and this makes a difference to students. Student Body President Sarah Heywood said, “Snow College is the very best! We get to be involved and have so many experiences that freshmen and sophomores at bigger schools miss. Plus, we pay a fraction of the cost. There is no place like Snow!”
